Sand Bath
An Unforgettable Relaxation Experience
Lie back and let the warm sand envelop you as you take in the beautiful view of Beppu Bay. This deeply relaxing experience melts away daily fatigue, warming you to the core in both body and mind.
The sand is carefully heated with hot spring water nine times a day, each cycle taking about 30 to 40 minutes to remove impurities and keep it clean. For additional hygiene, guests are guided to different spots so that the same sand is never used twice.Benefits

Step 01
Reserve
Please book in advance via our official website.
*Same-day reservations are accepted, but you may experience wait times. -
Step 02
Change Into Yukata
At your reserved time, staff will guide you to the changing room where you’ll change into a special yukata provided for the sand bath.

Step 03
Enjoy the Sand Bath
Lie down in the sand, and our staff will gently cover you. Relax and enjoy the ocean view for about 15 minutes.
*If it feels too hot, gently move your hands or feet to let heat escape. -
Step 04
Shower Off
Use the shower room to rinse off any remaining sand from your body and yukata.

Step 05
Relax in the Grand Bath
Soak in the onsen and warm your body from within.
If you prefer, you can skip the bath and head straight to the changing room. -
Step 06
Change Clothes
Once you’ve changed back, your sand bath session is complete.
